what a summer! with new releases, music awards, and plenty of content, let’s dive right in:

they’ve also played with BRAIN APE and chanty all over the country since our last newsletter, with honourable mentions going to the edinburgh fringe at whistlebinkies, a fantastic hometown show at the hop kingdom this month, and THE KID AND I headlining litfest. it was wonderful to see all of your faces there

THE KID AND I

a HUGE congratulations to THE KID AND I for being voted one of the TOP THREE BEST BANDS of 2025 in this year’s NMG awards. the award results were a mixture of judge voting and public polling, and you guys absolutely SMASHED the public polls in their favour! the band are hugely grateful, and wanted us to thank you all on their behalf. the guys went into the awards as underdogs, and thanks to you all their name is spreading!

but this is no time for the members of THE KID AND I to take it easy! see below 

JACOB POWELL

jacob has been very busy behind the scenes!

starting next week, scratch rock will be releasing a video every two weeks as part of a TEN PART SERIES where jacob plays KID AND I songs on top of a moving boat!

between filming content for THE KID AND I and scratch rock (more to come than just the boat session!) jacob also spent the summer on the stage! a huge congratulations to him for landing a role in les mis and acting his heart out night after night. if you caught the play you know just how great it was!

MINKY TRES-VAIN

jacob’s not the only scratch rock artist to have been acting over the summer! while it’s all still hush hush at the minute, keep your eyes peeled on socials for announcements about films and tv shows that minky has spent the summer filming. we wondered why he’s finally cut his hair!

CHANTY TRES-VAIN

and last but certainly not least, chanty has also been VERY busy lately. as well as bringing out some new merch of her own - which you can find by clicking here - she has just released a NEW SINGLE!
